Jhal Muri

Ingredients: 

  • 2 cups puffed rice

  • 3 tablespoons chana chur or sev 

  • ¼ cup onions, diced (small)

  • ⅓ cup yellow potatoes, boiled and smashed

  • ½  teaspoon bird’s eye chillies, thinly chopped

  • 2 tablespoons tomatoes, diced (small)

  • 2 tablespoons cucumber, julienne 

  • ⅓ cup cilantro, chopped

  • ½ teaspoon roasted cumin powder

  • ½ teaspoon chaat masala

  • ½ teaspoon black salt 

  • ½ teaspoon Kashmiri red chilli powder

  • 1 tablespoon freshly squeezed lime juice

  • 1 + 2 tablespoons mustard oil or Mango Achar Chili Oil

Directions:

  1. Peel, dice, boil and smash potatoes.

  2. Add 1 tablespoon of mustard oil and chaat masala to the mashed potatoes and incorporate it. 

  3. Add onions, chillies, tomatoes, cilantro, cucumber, salt, spices, and mustard oil to a large mixing bowl and give it a good mash to release all the juices. 

  4. Add puffed rice and seasoned mashed potatoes to the bowl and stir to incorporate everything. Serve.
